What is drug counseling?
Drug Counseling is a support system that provides help for people who are abusing substance(s). Substance Abuse Counsellors help these people by meeting with them in person and trying to find ways to help them cope with their problems.

Drug Counseling Centers:
Listed below are some drug counseling centers that people could visit to get the treatment/support they need. Not all of the counseling centers listed below could only help with people who are abusing substances, some of them offer different programs.

AUSTIN DRUG & ALCOHOL ABUSE PROGRAM

Austin Drug & Alcohol Abuse Program (ADAAP) offers two types of program. The first program is called the Intensive Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program which is a 60 hour treatment that focuses on people who have become dependent on who abuse drugs, alcohol, or inhalants. The second program is called Relapse Outpatient Treatment Program which helps with addicts that keep falling back into abusing substance (s), they focus on way ways to cope with it to live a sobriety life.

THE RIGHT STEP

The Right Step Program offers Outpatient Drug & Alcoholism Treatment, you spend at least 10 hours a week (equivalent to three sessions) working on a routine to sobriety life. This program helps you get to a stable point in life by trying to get your physical and mental health ready, they help you by putting you with client groups, family groups, and etc. they also offer another program called Medical Alcohol & Drug Detox, they offer homes that would be beneficial of creating a healthy lifestyle. The counsellors also monitor your actions, have you attend group meetings or individual meetings, and etc.

CHANGES COUNSELING SERVICES

Changes Counseling Services offers a program called Intensive Outpatient Program, the program is six weeks long (60 hours in total) and they focus on certain topics each week for those six weeks. For week one, they focus on Spiritual Aspects; Week two, they focus on Volitional Aspects; Week three, they focus on Mental Aspects; Week four, they focus on Physical Aspects; Week five, they focus on emotional aspects; and on Week six, they focus on social aspects.

NORTHWEST COUNSELING AND WELLNESS CENTER

Northwest Counseling and Wellness Centers offers a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). 6 weeks, 20 sessions. Designed to help clients establish and maintain abstinence from alcohol and drug abuse or dependency. Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program.Individualized programming which follows the format on an IOP with additional features to address needs of substance abuse and mental health diagnosis. Substance Abuse Aftercare Services (continuing care). Research indicates the strongest predictor of success is the time spent in supportive therapy. Aftercare is an ongoing support group for program participants that helps clients maintain treatment gains and to develop strength and function.

SAGE RECOVERY & WELLNESS CENTER

Sage Recovery offers a program called Intensive Outpatient Program (IOPs) which are designed to be both therapeutic and educationally empowering. Group lessons are specially tailored to each individual client’s treatment needs, consist of psychoeducation and open processing, and are offered in the morning and evening. Treatment modalities pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement.
